The Waitaki Boys' High School Foundation was established in 1991 to bring together Old Boys and Friends of the School to work for the advancement of the school.
The Foundation was initiated by the School itself, its Board of Trustees, Rector and staff, and has been financially supported by the Old Boys' Association, the School Community Association and the Boarder Parents Committee, who were all involved in planning for its establishment.
The Foundation is assisting the School in a significant way to achieve financial independence and security and with those advantages, to proceed with ongoing and substantial improvements to the school. The Foundation provides supplementary funding to achieve these broad objectives.
The Foundation Board works with the School to ensure that the needs of the School are serviced by the income from the Foundation. Some of those needs are:
1. To continue to develop and improve the School's educational, cultural and sporting programmes.
2. To protect, maintain and safeguard Waitaki's most treasured building. The Hall of Memories, and also the Rectory, the Social Centre and Milner Park Grandstand. and also to secure other aspects of the Waitaki Heritage for which the school is not Government funded.
